Developments in Full-Scope, Real-Time Nuclear Plant Simulators
Simulation techniques have been used in the nuclear industry since its inception for design and safety study purposes. Many of the early simulators were analogue computers which could provide high processing speeds but were limited in capacity and repeatability. These systems gave way to digital/analogue hybrids which overcame some of the limitations and these in turn were superceded by entirely digital systems.
