Abstract

The objective of this paper is to provide a perspective on several aspects of the analysis of alternative defense concepts for NATO. Rather than treating the subject in a broad and general way, the paper uses three specific concepts for the conventional defense of the Central Region as examples. No overall conclusions about their merits are drawn.
