Abstract
It has only been possible in this work to provide the briefest outline of the methods employed by the computational chemist in his quest for a deeper understanding of the nature of atoms and molecules and the ways in which they interact with one another. We have been able to give an even briefer outline of some of the applications of the methods of computational chemistry to problems of current interest in chemistry, in astrophysics, in pharmacology, and in molecular biology.
