Abstract
Harrie Stewart Wilson Massey was born in Melbourne on the 16 May 1908 and died in his home in Esher, Surrey on the 27 November 1983. He had an unequalled influence on atomic physics and its applications, directly through his research and monographs, and indirectly through his students, his students’ students, their students, the line continuing.
