Part of the book series: Electron Microscopy in Biology and Medicine ((EMBM,volume 4))

Abstract

The main topic of this review will be the ultra-structure of the mammalian gastric glands, with emphasis on man. For a broader overview the reader should consult earlier articles (1,2,3), where emphasis is sometimes put on other data and conflicting opinions might be presented. For information on the submammalian gastric mucosa, the reader is referred to an earlier review (1).
