Relaxing Action of Muzolimine on Guinea-Pig Isolated Aorta
Muzolimine, a pyrazolinone derivative (1) with high-ceiling activity (2) and a prolonged action, showed in preliminary studies a diuretic activity similar to that of furosemide (3) together with antihypertensive efficacy (4, 5) similar to the thiazides (6). The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of muzolimine on vascular smooth muscle and to compare vascular effect induced by muzolimine with those of furosemide whose vasodilatatory action is well known.
