Abstract

As befits the introduction of a new idea, my primary concerns in the dissertation so far have been twofold: to define the idea precisely, and to demonstrate its capabilities concretely. These concerns have lead to a succession of reductions in scope—from all possible problems to function optimizations to unconstrained function optimizations to specific test functions, from search strategies to population-based methods to election schemes to the mathematical definition of SIGH.
