Part of the Prostaglandins, Leukotrienes, and Cancer book series (PLAC, volume 5)


The effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation on skin have been under intense study in the past decade. This is in part related to the recent large body of knowledge which has accumulated about eicosanoids and their important role as mediators of cutaneous inflammation, including UV-induced cutaneous changes. In this chapter, we will review the known effects of UV radiation on cutaneous eicosanoid metabolism,
