Abstract

In West Germany, approximately 15% of all couples are involuntarily barren, and psychological factors seem to be relevant in about one-third of them [1]. Thus, a series of studies were conducted to investigate the role of stress in male sterility. So far, both an adrenergic activation of the nervous system and enhanced levels of corticosteroids are considered possible mechanisms involved in the transfer of stress to gonadal function.
