Abstract
Localized prostatic carcinoma has been treated at Baylor College of Medicine since 1965 primarily by pelvic lymphadenectomy and the insertion of radioactive gold grains followed by supplemental external beam irradiation therapy. The rationale, treatment techniques, complications and initial results of this form of treatment have been previously published (1–6). The reader is directed to these previous publications for those details. The purpose of this manuscript is to update the data presented in previous reports and to present the current results of this form of primary management of localized prostatic carcinoma.
