Abstract

Continuous trapping of sandflies has been carried out since 1984 in the primary rain forest of Yapacani (Bermudez et al., in this chapter) using Shannon and CDC traps. More than 5,000 sandflies were dissected and examined for gut infection with flagellates to identify potential vectors of Leishmania.
