Bone Marrow Transplantation

Part of the book series: Cancer Treatment and Research ((CTAR,volume 50))

Abstract

Allogeneic marrow transplantation is an increasingly utilized treatment for life-threatening hematologic disorders. As results improve, the number of transplant centers has expanded to more than 200 institutions [1,2]. Utilization will continue to increase as the number of available marrow donors increases through selection of suitable HLA-nonidentical family or unrelated marrow donors [3–5].
