Abstract

Little recent progress has been made in understanding the pathogenesis of Acquired Cystic Kidney Disease (ACKD) in uremic patients. However, several points relating to the epidemiology and clinical consequences of this condition have been clarified and reasonable recommendations for handling of such patients can be made. This review will focus on recent reports on morphology of cysts and controversial issues of renal cell carcinoma formation in ACKD.
