Abstract
Modern technologies have been introduced to overcome the degradation of environmental quality. Adsorption technology is one of them and is expected to play a significant role both in local environmental control, such as water treatment, and in global environmental conservation, such as prevention of global warming and ozone layer depletion. Adsorption technologies developed for deteriorated drinking water sources, goundwater contaminated by volatile organics, removing nutrients from wastewater, recovery of carbon dioxide from stack gases, CFC-free refrigeration etc. are introduced briefly in this article.
