The Future of International Banking: The ABN Amro View

  • Chapter
Essays on Money, Banking, and Regulation

Abstract

When Conrad Oort joined ABN Bank in October 1977, people in our bank were proud that the treasurer-general of the Ministry of Finance had joined us but also wondering what he would bring to us. As a non-banker and as a former professor, to some people it was not perfectly logical that Conrad would prove to become a top-banker.
