Abstract
We determine numerically energies and wavefunctions for the highly excited hydrogen atom in magnetic fields of about 6 Tesla and compute the spectra of Balmer transitions up to energies of~-10cm-1 below the field-free ionization limit. Fourier transforms of the spectra show how the structural characteristics of the spectra change with small variations of the magnetic field strength.
