  • Chapter
  • 49 Accesses

Abstract

LBMS have developed methods and associated software tools to support a variety of IT related tasks including:

  • Systems Analysis and Design

  • Strategic IT Planning

  • Database Design

  • Project Control

This paper considers some of the activities carried out during the database design phase of a project and uses them to illustrate the way in which LBMS have approached the problems of automating a systems development method. The examples discussed are taken from the LBMS Auto- Mate+ product which is a PC tool to support users of the LSDM methodology.
