Abstract

Mathematical modelling of physiological systems has shown a substantial advance in recent years. As a general trend, models are able to describe more and more detailed properties of the physiological system. Consequently, the question of parameter estimation arises during modelling to a greater extent since this is a fundamental factor in verifying and applying the model.
