Abstract

Since the development of our first fully computerised electrocardiograph in 1980–81, a family of four types has been designed and put into production now reaching more than 5000 units. The concept adopted at that time and published later (Dotsinsky et al., 1985) involved a multichannel input amplifier in order to obtain synchronous signals from all the 12 ECG leads, an A/D converter/multiplexer and a dedicated microcomputer system with its microprocessor, RAM, EPROM, peripheral adaptors, keyboard and a thermal-dot printer-plotter.
