Elastic Differential Positron Scattering from Argon

Abstract

Up to now the only experimental data on elastic differential scattering of positrons from a crossed beam experiment are those of Hyder et al. (1986) for Ar in the energy range from 100 eV to 300 eV. There are two theoretical papers on this subject of Nahar and Wadehra (1986) from 3 eV to 300 eV and of McEachran and Stauffer (1985) from 10 eV to 250 eV. At low energies and small angles these theories differ significantly. We are performing measurements in the energy and angular range where these calculations do not agree.
