Endocrine Exophthalmos - Natural History and Results of Treatment

The appearance of endocrine ophthalmopathy (B.O.) is pathognomonic For Graves’ disease, but its outbreak is unpredictable, not correlated with the course and treatment of thyrotoxicosis, and often causing major therapeutic problems. Therefore, history of e.o. and therapeutic efforts in 191 patients suffering from Graves’ disease and seen in our outpatient ward were analysed retrospectively.
