It is estimated that between 3 and 7% of the children and adolescents in this country, up to four million, are learning disabled (LD). Of this group, about 20% will have other evidence of central nervous system (CNS) dysfunction, primarily hyperactivity and/or distractability-attention deficit disorder (ADD) (Silver, 1981).
