Abstract

Earlier chapters investigated the hypothesis that there is a direct relationship between the theoretical concepts of philosophical systems of thought and rules that are an integral part of social systems such as institutions of law, economics, and government. A special area to be examined here is the impact of American pragmatism, as introduced by Peirce, on United States constitutional law through the direct influence of Holmes.
