Abstract
The protective ability of carotenoids in relieving the symptoms of patients suffering from certain light-sensitive diseases is well known and documented (Mathews-Roth, 1981). The present paper describes a new, related, biological property of β-carotene: protection against psoralen-induced toxicity in vivo.
