Abstract
Two perturbative expansions used in scattering calculations are the Rytov and the Born series. The terms in each series at any given order and the coupling of one order to the next are different. This fact has led to much discussion as to whether the leading term of the Born, or the Rytov series provides a better approximation to the exact solution.[1]
