Abstract

In this chapter, I will review information on mechanisms of immune renal diseases published only during 1986-1987, with particular attention to new directions, concepts, and processes that may have significant implications for the future. In setting this course, I inevitably exclude from review isolated observations of interest that do not blend easily into currents of the field in general. In the second half of the chapter, I will review new data on clinical entities considered in the category of immune renal disease. Whenever possible, I have linked observations on disease mechanisms made experimentally with the clinical entities that are believed to result from them.
