Abstract

The question of what is the receptive field of a single spinal dorsal horn neurone is one which seems very simple at first but which becomes more and more complicated as one’ experience increases. Although some of the problems seem at first sight to be of a technical nature, they are in fact dereived, directly or indirectly, from the physiological properties of dorsal horn neurones.
