Tissue Explant Technique in the Study of Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) Production In Vitro

  • Chapter
Placenta as a Model and a Source

Abstract

Human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone normally secreted by trophoblastic cells of the placenta during pregnancy, which signals the differentiation of the trophoblast from the remainder of the blastocyst.
