Abstract
This paper is a plea for comprehensive thinking, comprehensive planning, comprehensive leadership - and comprehensive education. This plea covers three layers,
-
(i)
science and the humanities,
-
(ii)
the interdependence between technological progress, economic growth, and social change as well as
-
(iii)
the unity of technical, pragmatic, and ethical action (according to Kant) — leading to the “diamond of thought” after being extended by a fourth dimension of knowledge, the field of methodology and formal procedures.
