Abstract

Various metals, in diverse alloys and combinations are used in dentistry. From several of these metals, the capacity to cause allergic contact dermatitis or stomatitis is well documented. It has to be stressed that the diagnosis of an allergic contact reaction in the mouth is usually more difficult to establish than an allergic skin reaction.
