Abstract

Streptomyces aureofaciens 2201 produces an antibiotic substance inhibiting the growth of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Micrococcus luteus. After transformation of pSA 2201 DNA isolated from Streptomyces aureofaciens 2201 into Streptomyces lividans 66, transformants were obtained which inhibited the growth of the mentioned testing microorganisms (Figures 1 and 2). The original host strain did not have this property.
