Abstract

The Beltrami parametrization for Riemann surfaces has been recognized recently as a useful] tool for string theory quantization [1]. In this lecture I will report further results concerning this parametrization which have been obtained in collaboration with Marc Bellon. I will point out in particular the possibility of gauge fixing in a BRST invariant way the global zero modes occuring in string multiloop amplitudes via the ghost propagator [2] and a supersymmetric generalization of the Beltrami parametrization which is relevant for superstrings [3].
