Abstract
Axial resolution and sensitivity of annular arrays scanners are linked to the acousto-electric response of each element of the annular array probe. The classical experimental measurement of this response, using the pulse-echo from a flat mirror, is strongly affected both in shape and amplitude by diffraction effects.
