Abstract
The equilibrium shape and small free oscillations of the liquid meniscus have been the subject of many theoretical and experimental studies. Renewed interest on this kind of problems has arisen from the possibility of producing single crystals of high quality and refining molten materials. Experiments on crystal growth have already been performed during Skylab and Spacelab missions.
