Abstract
One hundred seventy years have passed since the English physician James Parkinson published the first detailed description of the disease that now bears his name (Fig. 98). Parkinson proposed thta the disease, which he named “shaking palsy,” was caused by an organic lesion of the medulla oblongata and the spinal cord.
