Abstract
Experiment 13.1: Obtaining a Wide-Area Channeling Pattern. A wide-area electron channeling pattern (ECP) is illustrated in Figure A13.1. The resulting pattern consists of bands and lines which intersect and provide a “crystallographic road map.” The crystal has been intentionally placed so that the edges of the crystal are visible in the field of view. Notice that both a positional scan, which forms a conventional image, and an angular scan, which forms the ECP, are taking place simultaneously.
