The Scaling Laws in Ternary Systems: Polymer-Polymer-Good Solvent. An Experimental Study
The dependence of the interaction between two unlike polymers A and B (characterized by ΔA 2 which is proportional to the interaction parameter Xab) and of their demixing concentration c k , on their molecular weight is investigated. The experiments were performed by light scattering on four polymer pairs in good solvent. The results are in agreement with the prediction of scaling laws (ΔA 2 ~ M¯0.44 and c k ~ M¯0.63) derived from renormalization group calculations.
