Abstract

The key to reaching the correct diagnosis of an arrhythmia is a systematic approach to the problem—a dissection of the electrocardiogram (ECG) until the relationships become clear. For very complex problems ladder diagrams may be useful but are beyond the scope of this text, as are some of the more unusual rhythm problems. The more common problems in the diagnosis of the cardiac rhythm are discussed here.
