Abstract
Design-rule-based verification looks in the image for complete paths between pads and for pads and other specified circuit nodes that should be present and connected, in order to ensure that no connections exist between nonspecified nodes (Figure 80). The corresponding electrical circuit laws are also checked. Design-rule-based verification usually relies on local image and electrical operations, process-dependent design rule knowledge bases, and dedicated pipelined parallel architecture hardware.
