Abstract

In Table 18 we have listed the symbols and numeration of the eighty classes of layer groups. In the first and second columns we give the numbering and symbol used by Wood,26,27 which will be used in this work. Alongside we give the corresponding numbering and/or symbols introduced by Weber,15 Hermann,11,12 Alexander and Herrmann,13,14 Niggli,26 Bohm and Dornberger-Schiff,28 and Shubnikov and Koptsik.29 For additional symbols and numbering see also Dornberger-Schiff, 30 Cochran, 31 Belov and Tarkhova,32 Holser,19 Belov,33 Chapuis,34 and Kohler.35
