  • Chapter
Purines and Myocardial Protection

Part of the book series: Developments in Cardiovascular Medicine ((DICM,volume 181))

Abstract

This chapter will consider endogenous adenosine in the protection of the ischemic myocardium, the role of nucleoside transport inhibition in enhancing this protection, and the likely application of nucleoside transport inhibitors in clinical cardiovascular therapy.
