Abstract
As a general rule, most drug abuse prevention projects that make the effort to conduct a serious evaluation of outcomes can show successful results. Well-documented successes, however, represent only a small fraction of the field. The majority of prevention programs operating during the late 1980s were unwilling or unable to report on a credible evaluation.
