Special Physical Problems Related to Heat Transfer in Bath of Superfluid Helium

Part of the book series: A Cryogenic Engineering Conference Publication ((ACRE,volume 41))

Abstract

On the basis of transient heat transfer measurement of film boiling onset time in superfluid helium (HeII) bath, a criterion correlated to bath temperature and pressure for quantum turbulence onset after a rectangular heat pulse in HeII bath is shown. With the previously measured data of time dependent heat transfer, the boundary phenomena after the onset of film boiling are well defined. The bath temperature and pressure influences on heat transfer in HeII are studied.
