Abstract
The measurement of round trip group delay vs. frequency for electromagnetic waves reflected at a cutoff layer in the plasma can be used to reconstruct electron density profiles1. In Amplitude Modulation (AM) reflectometry2,3 the group delay is obtained from the phase delay φ of the modulating envelope as τg=φ/Ω, where Ω/2π is the modulating frequency; phase measurement is unambiguous provided that Ωτg<2π
