Preparation and Properties of Novel Titanosiloxane and Zirconosiloxane

  • Chapter
Metal-Containing Polymeric Materials

Abstract

A Preparation of ceramic materials from organometallic or metalorganic compound is called as “a precursor method”: Ceramic materials are prepared by sintering the ceramic precursor of desired shape such as fiber, film or bulk body. “Sol-gel process” is one of the precursor method and normally a mixture of metal alkoxides is subjected to the hydrolysis under a moderate condition followed by sintering. The formation of ceramic materials having excellent properties is, therefore, achieved by controlling the molecular structure of precursor polymer.
