Abstract
This paper is divided into two parts. The first summarizes American data on human navigation; the second evaluates criticisms of comparable data from Britain.
When collected together, American data overwhelmingly replicate their British forerunners. In stark contrast, the interpretation of their own data by American authors is universally negative. The reader is invited to draw his own conclusion from this contradiction.
