Abstract

With the announcement that gaseous radioactive emanations behaved like inert gases Ramsay’s interest in radioactivity was awoken. The discoverer of the rare gases argon, helium, krypton, and xenon was aroused to solve yet another puzzle. It had been found out that helium occurred in all radioactive minerals. A convincing explanation was lacking for each of them.
