Abstract
The aim of the present chapter is a discussion, as complete as possible at present, of polytopes with ‘few’ vertices. In section 6.1 we deal with d-polytopes having d + 2 vertices; Sections 6.2 and 6.3 present two different approaches to the classification of d-polytopes with d + 3 vertices, while section 6.4 deals with a remarkable phenomenon concerning centrally symmetric polytopes.
