Abstract
The authors realize that complete coverage of all the diseases that affect the respiratory system is practically impossible within the limitations of one chapter, or even an entire volume. Therefore, we have attempted to include all the primary diseases, as well as the normal structure and function of the respiratory system, while avoiding overlapping description of conditions that predominantly involve other organs or systems.
