Abstract
That a functional value can be determined by two, or more, variables is no surprise. Our purpose in this section is not simply to evaluate such functions — that we have done before. Rather, we want to discuss some introductory numerical techniques for solving some of the problems which arise in the calculus of several variables. We restrict our attention to functions of the form z = z(x,y), i.e., explicit functions of two variables.
